I am trying to be good and use up some of my stash which just so happens to contain a great deal of Harris tweed, do you ever struggle to use fabric because it is just too nice/pretty/beautiful/cute or adorable to cut up? I have a lot of them.
So i decided to use some red Harris tweed and made this cushion
Isn’t it pretty!
But boy I had trouble with the closure, so it is still on my unfinished list.
On another note I have a second hand sale to attend this week and there is a box of fabric that has my name on it so watch this space.
I am pretty chuffed with the way it turned out even if it is a little puffy on one side. For my first zip I made a few mistakes but I was absolutely over the moon with it in the end. Did I mention I have never lined anything either, another first!
We have been so busy the last couple of months this is the first weekend I have had with no commitments and I have thoroughly enjoyed it, lazy mornings looking through some amazing blogs and Pinterest with a cup of tea and no where to rush to. So for lunch we had a treat…
After some consideration and a fair bit of internet surfing and reading up on reviews I decided on a Pfaff Passport
Just look how beautiful it is. My son came up to ask what was wrong when I had just taken it out of the box and I said nothing it is just soooo beautiful and his reply was “erm, yes it is beautiful mummy” then he walked off, he is such a mummy’s boy my husband just shook his head.
My Husband can’t help but feel bitter though after I declared he had been bumped down the list of things I love 😉
Oh and just look at the pretty stitches…
I had a little play around with it tonight but just tried out a few stitches and I really like it. If only it was Saturday tomorrow and my day off work, Sigh
My sewing machine is sat looking sorry for itself, well in my head it does. She is broken and I was sat here wondering what to do when I realised I have a few projects that do not require any form of sewing
So here is one I finished earlier (about 20 minutes ago to be precise)
I am going to say a big sorry for the quality of the photo, one day I will take a decent photo in the middle of the day.
I think I have decided to buy a new machine but it is such a big decision with so many choices I am slightly overwhelmed, I am quite happy for my 2 year old to be in charge 😉 he seems to be quite good at making decisions even if everything is a BIG resounding NO!
Well it has been non stop for my little family lately. First we jetted off to Lanzarote, all inclusive for ten days (woo hoo) needless to say I have put on weight 😉 we took my mum for her 60th Birthday but to be honest the holiday was just what we needed too.
We got home on the Friday morning and my mother-in-law and nephew came down from Scotland on the Monday! Our nephew had never been to London so of course we had to show him all the sights, the London eye, London dungeons, London zoo and Chessington world of adventures
They went home on Wednesday and I am EXHAUSTED.
So I decided a nice bit of sewing on Thursday evening was just what I needed but either my machine is very upset with me for abandoning it for almost a month or it is unwell but either way it is just not playing ball 😦 so there has been no sewing this week HUMPH
I have decided I needed a new machine anyway but to be fair to my little brother (sewing machine) she has been a good little machine so I am really not sure what to do
