Well I don’t know what has come over me but I seem to be doing more crafting this past week then I have all month
I sat down yesterday evening and got to it
I came up with two squares (although I must admit I use the word square quite loosely)
I have to say it took a while to get to this stage as the vest material is much more stretchy then the t-shirt or sleep suit material and my machine just did not like it (I blame my machine and I am sticking to it!)
The other patch I completed was quite plain
So now I am left with a decision for tonight do I a) cut up more squares or b) make another patch?
By the way I have no plan at all with this I am making it up as I go along.
Well I may be further along with this quilt then the one I started months ago! maybe because this one is so sentimental.
Another thing that has really baffled me is why I make such small squares, I had not even noticed until my husband asked me why I do everything so small? Well I have no idea!
This past weekend has been super busy, my Mum had a wonderful birthday party but unfortunately my little guy was unwell and couldn’t go. He was so excited he even stated the next morning that “I go party” we felt bad for him but he seems not to have noticed that the party has been and gone and he did not attend. So on Sunday we had a chilled day and he spent quite a bit of time in the garden with his Dad.
I was lucky enough to have some flowers picked for me.
I am going to try and put together some mini pieces of fabric tonight for his quilt, this may be when I regret having such small squares! wish me luck 🙂
I was sorting through my son’s clothing and found a few t-shirts that are too small for him and my instant thought was I should make a quilt with them, as you do!
Start ANOTHER quilt that is, surely you can never have too many things on the go.
I have saved tons of his clothes just in case… and well two t-shirts was not going to be enough so I had a dig through one of the containers that hold his smaller clothes and found a few I could just about bear to cut up.
I do not remember him being so small, time sure does fly by.
I also managed to cut myself (again)
It was not a bad cut but it did need a plaster and the only one I could find was one with a moustache on it, who thought that product up?! Will i ever get used to my rotary cutter? so many questions so little time.
I am now off to catch some sleep before my mum’s big 6 0 tomorrow and her Birthday bash.
Well I thought last week would be the end of my busy month. I had an audit at work that went well and I thought on Thursday that would be it, a sigh of relief and then on to more fun stuff like knitting or sewing but fate had a different plan for me…
I tried to knit with this OH so pretty wool but all I managed to do was lose my patience.
How can anyone knit with this stuff?!
My husband kept complaining because all I kept doing was sighing and tutting, I lost it and ripped the whole THREE lines, yes I made it that far 😉 from the needle and the once pretty little skein ended up like this
I took the wool in to work to show everyone and my boss has taken it off my hands and is going to make me a scarf, bonus!
Then on Saturday my son had a tummy bug which lasted through to the early hours of Monday morning so I have still not managed to do anything else crafty. Maybe this week some time…..
Well just to prove I have not been completely idle here is the picture proof
A little longer since I last posted a picture. Still quite a way to go though!
Our muggy trying to get in on the action, she is such a poser let me tell you! in most picture she has this look as if to say “another picture of me? oh alright then if you must”
My other thing I have done a little on is my fist ever item of clothing
I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Who makes these patterns anyway?!
Have I mentioned I love this fabric? I had to force myself to cut the fabric up (it is just too pretty) I have already made a mistake, yes it is possible (ha ha) if it turns out really bad I will give it to my mum to wear, mothers love and all that 😉
